Wii Play

Wii Play is the best selling game on Nintendo Wii which is not bundled with the system (ie Wii Sports). Wii Play itself is a collection of 9 Mini-games which serve as an introduction to some of the innovative ways the Wii Remote can be used.

It was released with the Wii back in 2006 and has remained constantly in the best seller list since then. The title is a collection of mini games each designed to show you a new way to use the wii remote. There are a total of 9 mini games included ranging from surreal cow racing, laser hockey and pose Mii (in which you must fit your Mii characters inside bubbles by positioning them in the correct pose), to more down to earth titles like Table Tennis, Fishing and Billiards.

Each game gives you the chance to win one of four medals; bronze, silver gold and platinum. The platinum medal are very difficult to achieve and will require a lot of dedication. The bronze medals will not take most players very long at all to achieve and are required to unlock the next mini-game.

If you do achieve a bronze medal you have will then be able to play in the next level. It is not very difficult to gain this first medal but being able to play the next game adds value to the need to get a reasonable score in the previous game.

Wii Play with Wii Remote

The reason for the success of Wii Play with Wii Remote is the fact that most people who buy a Wii, will at some point want to play multiplayer games. As Wii Play with Wii Remote it works out as very good value for money. Wii Play with Wii Remote costs just a couple of more than a Wii Remote on its own. Multiplayer games have long been an important part of video games. All consoles made since the 8 bit era have included multiple ports to allow more more than one controller and therefore more than one player at a time. With the release of the Nintendo 64 came the first console to provide four ports to allow four people to play at once. The latest generation of console have no ports for controllers. This doesn't mean that all games are now for 0 players. It means that wireless technology has come a long way, with the Wii and Xbox 360 able to support upto 4 blutooth controllers while the PS3 manages upto 10 at once.

Nintendo Wii Play

Nintendo Wii Play is developed by the world's most successful games developer. 8 of the 10 best selling video games in history have been produced Nintendo so they are company who really know what they are doing better than anyone else.

Although Wii Play is most popular game on Nintendo Wii, it is not attached with Wii Sports. The nine short games available on the Wii Play help the player to learn the different features of the Wii remote more thoroughly.

It was launched in 2006 and contains 9 parts, each a mini game in itself. Once a player familiarizes himself with these games, he will have a better idea about the usage of the Wii remote. Some of the games include pose Mii, surreal cow racing, laser hockey and even tennis and fishing.

Wii Play with Remote

Some have criticised Wii Play with Remote for a lack of depth in its games. This is true that the game isn't going to be the prize of your collection but in terms of value for money Wii Play with Remote is a must have essential for you console.

There are four levels, each of which awards you with a bronze, silver, gold, and platinum medal, in that order, if you can qualify them. Although winning a bronze is not at all hard, the platinum is quite a task to acquire. Also, with each level that you progress to, the score in your previous level holds importance.

Since it is the first of its kind to be a single-handed remote control, it was surrounded by a lot of curiosity and hype when it first released into the market. It is superior to most other remote controllers made by Nintendo and other gaming console companies. It is capable of following motion and makes for a very interactive gaming session.

Buy Wii Play

If you don't already have a copy, we recommend you buy Wii Play today. Wii Play is most people's second game for the console after Wii Sports. If you buy Wii Play you will be able to with play two players on Wii Play as well as other games you own for the console.

Due to its ability to trace the player’s hand movements it is one of the most proficient remote controllers ever made. The creators at Nintendo had focused on summing up such a controller that would have sharp adaptive skills, so much so, that the most novice players would be able to maneuver its functions. Users of the Wii Play agree to the fact that this goal has been achieved successfully. The only thing to remember while using the Wii Play is to attach the supportive straps of the remote to your wrists so that it does not slide off while playing.

It is quite common for those who play the Nintendo Wii that sooner or later they will look for multi player gaming Nintendo consoles as well. Therefore, it makes more sense to buy the Wii Play with the Wii Remote together instead of only buying the latter. Multi player gaming consoles are very much in demand for those who play video games. Since the inception of 8 bits into the video game industry, most companies have come up with ports for multi player options. This allows more than one player to be able to control as well as play at a time. The Nintendo 64 was the first of its kind to offer ports sufficient for 4 players at a time.

However, the latest gaming consoles do not have multiple ports to allow more than one player to play at the same time. They use the wireless system of technology to overcome this challenge. Technologies like Bluetooth are commonly used in consoles like the Wii and Xbox 360. These games enable 4 players at a time whereas the PlayStation 3 is able to accommodate as many as 10 players.

DSi XL

If you enjoy Nintendo games such as Wii Play, you’ll probably also be familiar with the Nintendo DSi XL. Just in case you’re not I’ll briefly explain what it is. It is an extra large version of the DSi. And just in case you don’t know what that is, I’ll tell you that too. It is similar to the DS Lite (which itself is an upgraded version of the original DS) but it features a slightly larger screen (0.2 inches larger), a web browser, an integrated online store for downloading games, a new menu system, music file playing abilities, SD card slot and many other minor adjustments.

The DSi XL features all the upgrade plus it really pushes the size of the screens. This time the screens are 1.2 inches larger than the DS Lite’s screens. This is incredibly large for a handheld device. The only pocket device with such large screens that I can think of is the PSP which has a very slightly larger display (just 0.1 inch bigger) but it only has one screen of course.

The screens of the Nintendo DSi XL are really impressive. You can go back through your whole collection of games and try them all out on the new screens and notice details you always missed before when you played them. This is a really good time to upgrade to a new system if you didn’t with the last iteration of the console.

A lot of people do think it is too soon for Nintendo to release another console. I somewhat agree but on the other hand why shouldn’t they? Mobile phone companies release several different phones every year with upgraded versions of each coming out every year. No one complains about that (although it has happened a bit with the iphone, but that’s special (I don’t really think its special, I think it’s a bit over rated to be honest... like all apple stuff with their extremely loyal customers who won’t even admit that their computers crash from time to time)). Anyway, if you’ve got some money burning a hole in your pocket, a DSi XL might just brighten up your day.
